Celebrate the history of American textile manufacturing with this set of two Steel Heddle Manufacturing Co. No. 2931-13 Fly Loom Shuttles, crafted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA during the mid-20th century, circa 1950s. Constructed from durable resin-impregnated laminated hardwood with metal mechanisms, these industrial weaving shuttles were designed for use on high-speed fly-shuttle looms, carrying a pirn of weft yarn back and forth across the loom during the weaving process. Both shuttles retain their original internal brush inserts, which helped guide and maintain yarn tension during operation. Their streamlined form, distinctive laminate construction, and authentic factory wear make them excellent additions to collections of textile mill artifacts, industrial antiques, weaving tools, or rustic farmhouse décor. Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use, including surface scratches, patina, and age-related finish wear.
