Featuring the distinctive intertwined William & Mary “W&M” cypher, this selection of vintage cast metal plaques offers a handsome decorative accent inspired by the history and design traditions of Williamsburg, Virginia. The ornate openwork design combines the interlocking initials associated with King William III and Queen Mary II, the monarchs for whom Williamsburg was named in 1699. Dating approximately to the late 20th century, circa 1970s–1990s, the selection includes a cast brass cypher made in India and black cast iron cyphers, offering two traditional finishes for Colonial, Early American, or Williamsburg-inspired interiors. These substantial decorative pieces work beautifully as wall plaques, architectural accents, trivets, or display pieces for collectors of Williamsburg memorabilia, Virginia history, historic monograms, brassware, and cast iron décor. Good vintage condition with minor wear, patina, finish loss, and surface marks consistent with age and use.
