The ornate antiqued brass-tone metal box features pierced architectural scrollwork sides backed with rich green fabric, small raised feet, an embossed floral and scroll design on the underside, and a plush green velvet-lined interior for storing jewelry, keepsakes, or small collectibles. The underside label identifies the artwork as “Danseuses en Jaune” by Degas (1834–1917); the box itself appears to date to approximately the 1960s–1970s, most likely produced in Europe, although the specific country of manufacture is not marked.
