Celebrate the later years of the Fab Four with The Beatles 1967–1970, the legendary “Blue Album” double-LP compilation released by Apple Records in 1973. This copy bears the original U.S. Apple Records SKBO 3404 catalog number and the distinctive green Apple labels against a blue/lavender background, identifying it with the original 1973 U.S. pressing series rather than the later 1976 Capitol-label reissue. Released in the United States on April 2, 1973, the two-record set brings together 28 landmark recordings from the Beatles’ psychedelic and late-career period, including “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “Penny Lane,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “Hey Jude,” “Come Together,” “Here Comes the Sun,” “Let It Be,” and “The Long and Winding Road.” Original U.S. copies were manufactured by Apple Records and pressed through Capitol Records facilities, with individual pressing plants identifiable by markings in the runout/deadwax. A cornerstone Beatles compilation and an essential vintage vinyl release for collectors of classic rock, Apple Records, and 1970s pressings.
