Add classic Italian tableware to your collection with this vintage Eales 1779 pewter salt and pepper shaker set, featuring substantial turned forms with stepped circular bases, rounded shoulders, and polished silver-gray surfaces. One piece has a perforated shaker top for salt, while the companion pepper mill/grinder features a traditional hand-operated grinding mechanism marked “PEWTER.” The underside is stamped “EALES 1779 PEWTER/ITALY,” identifying the set as Italian-made Eales pewter rather than indicating an 18th-century production date—the “1779” is part of the Eales brand name. This style is most consistent with late-20th-century production, circa 1970s–1990s, made in Italy. Their weighty architectural shape works beautifully with traditional, English country, Italian, farmhouse, or vintage dining décor. Good vintage condition with minor wear, patina, oxidation, and surface marks consistent with age and use.
