Celebrate American railroad history with this Robert L. Hunt “Conrail 77” framed giclée on canvas, a signed and numbered limited edition created in 2000. The wintry railroad scene depicts two freight trains meeting on snow-covered tracks, including Conrail locomotive #1648 alongside a contrasting yellow locomotive and freight consist. According to the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity, Conrail purchased more than 400 E7A units when the railroad was formed in 1976, with #1648 identified as the only E7A painted in Conrail blue. Hunt’s composition captures the imposing locomotives against a subdued winter landscape with strong perspective and finely rendered railroad details. This example is hand signed by Robert L. Hunt and numbered #8/200, making it an early-numbered example from the limited edition of 200 authorized giclée reproductions on canvas. Presented in an ornate gold-tone frame and accompanied by its original Certificate of Authenticity dated March 3, 2000, this railroad artwork is an appealing collectible for enthusiasts of Conrail, American railway history, locomotive art, train memorabilia, and transportation artwork. Good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and display.
