Launching his solo career away from The Cars, Ric Ocasek released Beatitude in 1982, showcasing the sleek New Wave and art-rock songwriting that helped define his distinctive sound. Released by Geffen Records under catalog number GHS 2022, the album was written and produced by Ocasek and includes tracks such as “Jimmy Jimmy,” “Something to Grab For,” “Prove,” “I Can’t Wait,” and “Connect Up to Me.” Beatitude was Ocasek’s first solo studio album and remains an appealing early-1980s release for collectors of The Cars, New Wave, and classic rock vinyl.
