Dramatic lighting and deep jewel tones give this vintage framed needlepoint portrait a striking Old Masters appearance. Completed in 1977, the design reproduces The Man with the Golden Helmet, depicting a solemn soldier wearing an ornate gleaming helmet and dark military attire against a nearly black background. Dense wool stitching creates rich texture and painterly shading in tones of gold, burgundy, brown, and charcoal. Signed “CB” and dated ’77, the needlework is presented in a coordinating antiqued gold-and-black frame. Good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.
