Bring the bold color and playful character of Costa Rican studio pottery to your collection with this Pefi Costa Rica signed art pottery selection, available by choice of the three animal trinket dishes, creamer and open sugar bowl set, or three mugs. Created by Costa Rican artist Cecilia “Pefi” Facio de Figueres, Pefi pottery is known for its exuberant tropical palette, whimsical animals, fruit, flowers, and graphic hand-painted decoration. These pieces were made in Costa Rica, circa 1990s–early 2000s, during the period when Pefi’s colorful ceramics became especially popular with collectors and visitors to the country; her studio was located in the hills outside San José, Costa Rica. Each piece features a glossy glazed finish with vivid cobalt blue, yellow, green, red, orange, and pink decoration outlined in black, while the three dishes depict a charming cat, dog, and pig. The undersides are signed “Pefi Costa Rica,” making these distinctive examples of collectible Costa Rican folk and studio art pottery. Choose one grouping or collect them all for an eclectic display of Pefi ceramics, Latin American folk art, tropical pottery, and colorful kitchenware. Good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.
