Bring raw Texas blues-rock energy to your vinyl collection with Johnny Winter’s The Progressive Blues Experiment, issued in the United States by Imperial Records in 1969. This stereo 12-inch, 33 RPM pressing is the Imperial reissue of Winter’s 1968 debut album, originally released in a very limited edition by Austin-based Sonobeat Records. Backed by bassist Tommy Shannon and drummer “Uncle” John Turner, Winter delivers a powerful blend of original compositions and blues standards, including “Rollin’ and Tumblin’,” “Tribute to Muddy,” “Mean Town Blues,” “Help Me,” and “It’s My Own Fault.” The album captures Winter’s fiery guitar work and the emerging psychedelic blues-rock sound that helped establish him as a leading figure in American electric blues. Released on the black Imperial label with catalog number LP-12431. Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use.
