Add substantial Japanese-inspired character to tea service or kitchen décor with this cast iron tetsubin-style teapot, featuring a traditional hobnail textured surface and classic rounded form. Weighing approximately 10 pounds, the heavily constructed pot features dense raised dot decoration across the body and lid, a pinecone-shaped finial, curved pouring spout, and tall swing handle. The design draws from traditional Japanese tetsubin iron kettles, particularly the arare or “hailstone” surface pattern that has been used on Japanese ironware for generations. The underside shows age-related oxidation and wear to the exposed iron surface, giving the piece a well-established appearance. With its substantial weight, sculptural silhouette, and traditional Japanese-inspired design, this large cast iron teapot makes an impressive addition to a collection of Asian tea ware, cast iron cookware, Japanese décor, or rustic kitchen accessories. Good vintage condition with wear, oxidation, and surface variation consistent with age and use.
