Bring traditional Japanese craftsmanship to your kitchen with this Japanese Karako Donabe Cooking Pot & Rice Bowls set, manufactured in Japan circa 1970s–1980s. Crafted from ceramic, this beautiful set includes a lidded donabe cooking pot and five matching rice bowls decorated with an intricate transferware design featuring alternating medallions of floral, bamboo, and landscape motifs in deep blue, black, muted red, and yellow accents. The richly patterned lid and coordinating blue-glazed handles showcase the timeless artistry of Japanese tableware while complementing the classic ivory glaze. Traditionally used for preparing rice, soups, stews, and one-pot meals, the donabe retains heat exceptionally well, and the matching bowls create an authentic dining presentation. A wonderful addition to collections of Japanese pottery, Asian dinnerware, or vintage kitchenware. Good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.
