A detailed stitched map of Virginia’s Lower Peninsula gives this vintage Hampton Roads cross-stitch artwork strong regional and historical appeal. Created in the United States in 1985, the design highlights Newport News, Hampton, Phoebus, Denbigh, and Poquoson alongside recognizable landmarks including the Newport News Shipbuilding yard, Mariners’ Museum, Christopher Newport College, Hampton University, Fort Eustis, Fort Monroe, Langley Air Force Base, NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton Coliseum, and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. The colorful needlework is presented beneath glass with layered blue and brown matting in a dark wood-tone frame. Good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and display.
