A tall carved evergreen with delicate curls of wood rises above a miniature woodland scene in this German Erzgebirge Christmas pyramid, traditionally called a Weihnachtspyramide. Handcrafted in the Ore Mountains of Saxony, Germany, the pyramid dates to 1992 or later, the period documented by the Echt Erzgebirge – Holzkunst mit Herz seal on its underside. Turned wooden columns frame the natural-wood carousel, where a figure carrying a walking staff stands among smaller carved trees. Three brass-tone candle cups surround the honey-colored base. Rising warmth from the candles is designed to turn the wooden fan overhead, setting the forest scene in motion.
