Bring French country character to a table or wall display with this set of three antique H.B. & Cie Choisy-le-Roi rooster plates, crafted in France during the early 1900s. Made from durable Terre de Fer ironstone, each plate features a colorful hand-painted rooster surrounded by green foliage and a sweeping burgundy feather-and-leaf border against a creamy white ground. The undersides bear the H.B. & Cie Terre de Fer Choisy-le-Roi France shield backstamp, identifying the pieces with the celebrated Hautin-Boulenger pottery works of Choisy-le-Roi. Their expressive brushwork, traditional coq motif, and gently aged glaze give the set an appealing French Provincial and farmhouse look. A distinctive addition for collectors of antique French ironstone, Choisy-le-Roi pottery, rooster décor, hand-painted tableware, and French country ceramics. Good antique condition with crazing and minor wear consistent with age and use.
