Add bold Mexican folk-art character to your collection with this vintage hand-painted Mexican pottery bird figurine, featuring a rounded stylized bird form decorated in rich earthy shades of brown, rust red, black, cream, olive green, and gold. The body is beautifully painted with a colorful pheasant or game bird motif surrounded by sweeping feathers, grasses, circular geometric designs, and fine linear accents, while the oversized painted eye and graphic facial details give the sculpture a distinctive mid-century folk-art appearance. Signed “E.R. MEX.” on the body, this decorative ceramic bird was made in Mexico, approximately circa 1960s–1970s, and reflects the colorful hand-decorated pottery traditions popular in Mexican decorative arts of the period. A striking piece for collectors of Mexican pottery, Latin American folk art, vintage bird figurines, hand-painted ceramics, pheasant decor, and mid-century global decor. Good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.
