Add an authentic piece of early cooperage history to your collection with this antique wooden barrel or cask dispensing tap, manufactured in the United States circa 1880–1920. Traditionally used to dispense liquids from wooden barrels and casks, this primitive tap features a tapered hardwood body with a metal-lined flow channel and a turned hardwood T-handle that operated the internal valve mechanism. Its well-worn patina, age-darkened wood, and hand-crafted construction reflect decades of practical use in breweries, wineries, cider mills, farms, or general cooperage. Today, it makes an outstanding display piece for collectors of primitive Americana, antique farm tools, brewery memorabilia, or rustic décor. Good antique condition with wear consistent with age and use, including age checking to the wood, oxidation to the metal components, and surface wear from years of service.
