Designed by Horace See and delivered in April 1891, the 90-foot iron tugboat operated in New York Harbor until 1912 and later served Hampton Roads as the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eJ. Alvah Clark\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. After a 1964 collision, the vessel was restored by shipyard employees and dedicated as a memorial in 1976. Initialed “CB 79,” the detailed needlework is displayed beneath glass with layered rose-colored matting and a decorative silver-tone and black frame. An informational history sheet remains attached to the reverse.
